Mykola Tomenko: Economic, not Political Issues should be of Priority for The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine

Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, supposes that in the next plenary week the Parliament should focus on adoption of anti-recessionary Bills instead of discussing the political situation in the country.

Thus, at the today´s meeting of the expert council of the BYuT Faction, M.Tomenko stated the necessity of adopting socio-economic Bills during the plenary week of 12-15 May to improve the situation in Ukraine.

According to the Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the agenda of the next plenary week also envisages adoption of the Draft Resolution concerning setting up of several Temporary Inquiry Panels (re observance of legislation by the reconstruction of "Olimpiysky" National Sports Complex; re "Inter" TV channel; re election and dismissal of judges).

Moreover, M.Tomenko believes that adoption of the Bill concerning State regulation in the field of gambling business will also be topical.

The Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine did not preclude the possibility that factions in opposition would insist that plenary meetings started with the scrutiny of maters concerning political situation and probable resignation of certain members of the Government.

"Economic Bills, not the political situation, should become of priority for The Verkhovna Rada", - stressed Mykola Tomenko.
